چکیده
Purpose Performing a transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) prostate biopsy is at the heart of current cancer detection procedure. With today's two-dimensional (2D) live (US) imaging equipment, this task remains complex due to poor visibility cancerous tissue on TRUS images and limited anatomical context available in 2D plane. This paper presents rigid 2D/3DUS registration method for navigated biopsy. allows continuous localization trajectory during Methods We proposed an organ-based approach achieve real-time without need any probe device. The combines image similarity geometric proximity detected features. Additions our previous work include multi-level use rejection rate favouring best matches. Conclusions shows fly efficiently trajectories. us plan further improvements navigation transfer.

Contributions to Automated Realtime Underwater Navigation
This dissertation presents three separate–but related–contributions to the art of underwater navigation. These methods may be used in postprocessing with a human in the loop, but the overarching goal is to enhance vehicle autonomy, so the emphasis is on automated approaches that can be used in realtime. The three research threads are: i) in situ navigation sensor alignment, ii) dead reckoning t...
متن کاملFreehand biopsy guided by electromagnetic needle tracking: a phantom study.
PURPOSE To evaluate the overall accuracy and time spent on biopsy guided by electromagnetic needle tracking in a phantom compared with the standard technique of US-guided biopsy with an attached steering device. Furthermore, to evaluate off-plane biopsy guided by needle tracking. MATERIALS AND METHODS Three different series of biopsy were performed in a phantom: one with a steering device att...
متن کاملRealtime MR guided endomyocardial biopsy with an active visualization bioptome
Background Invasive endomyocardial biopsy is an important tool to diagnose cardiomyopathy. But the diagnostic yield is low because the procedure is performed ‘blind’ using, particularly in processes characterized by heterogeneous myocardial involvement. MRI tissue characterization techniques, using late gadolinium enhancement or T1 mapping for example, can identify affected regions and guide bi...
متن کاملTowards Ontology- Based Realtime Behaviour Interpretation
The authors describe a generic framework for model-based behaviour interpretation and its application to monitoring aircraft service activities. Behaviour models are represented in a standardised conceptual knowledge base using OWL-DL for concept definitions and the extension SWRL for constraints. The conceptual knowledge base is automatically converted into an operational scene interpretation ...
متن کاملLight Octree: Global Illumination Fast Reconstruction and Realtime Navigation
We present a method to rapidly build an irradiance cache based on a local illumination environment approach. This cache is obtained by a stream simplification of a photon map. The photons are K-Means clustered per voxel into sets of virtual directional light. These lights are stored into an irradiance texture to provide a real-time rendering of a global illuminated scene. This method can be int...
